Special Overnight Trip - Historic Fredericksburg and Surrounding Area Tour

Delight in three days of touring historic homes and landmarks as well as enjoying museums and fine dining.

The adventure begins in Fredericksburg with a catered lunch in the Historic Museum and Cultural Center followed by a popular trolley tour of downtown. That evening, travel to the beautiful Potomac Point Winery for a tasting, tour and delicious meal.

Day two starts with a Historic Garden Tour of sites running along the Potomac River. Route 218, also known as Ridge Road, once led to the seats of the Fitzhugh, Washington, Lewis, and other prominent Colonial families. One of the homes on the tour also sits near the site of the 1873 sinking of the steamer the Wawaset, described as the worst maritime disaster on the Chesapeake Bay.

On day three, travel to Orange County and tour James Madison’s Montpelier and enjoy lunch at the Silk Mill Grille in downtown before returning home.

When: April 19-21. Departing 7:30 a.m. from the Blacksburg Community Center and returning by 7 p.m. on April 21. A complete itinerary will be provided in April. No refunds after April 1 unless a substitute can be found.

Fee includes transportation, two nights lodging, two breakfasts at the hotel, three lunches, two dinners, and all tours.
