The State of Virginia requires that the Town’s Comprehensive Plan, Blacksburg 2046, be updated and reviewed at least once every five years. The Town also conducts annual amendments to the Comprehensive Plan.
The 2010 annual amendments to Blacksburg 2046 propose minor updates and changes to the Transportation Chapter, Paths to the Future Map and two citizen requests to amend the Future Land Use Map.
The proposed 2010 Amendments and the 2010 adopted Comprehensive Plan can be reviewed at http://www.blacksburg.gov/Index.aspx?page=269 or at the Planning and Building Department, Blacksburg Motor Company, 400 South Main Street.
The following meetings have been scheduled for public input on the proposed 2009 Amendments to Blacksburg 2046:
A Public Input meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 5:30 pm in the Blacksburg Motor Company Conference Room, 400 South Main Street.
Planning Commission Public Hearing: Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 7:30 pm in the Roger E. Hedgepeth Chambers at the Municipal Building at 300 South Main Street.
Town Council Public Hearing: Public input is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 7:30 pm in the Roger E. Hedgepeth Chambers.
Additionally, citizens are welcome to attend the Planning Commission Work Session on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 5:00 pm in the Blacksburg Motor Company Building when the 2010 Amendments will be reviewed and discussed. Please note there is not an opportunity for public input at these work sessions.
