Traffic Alert: Construction has started on the North Main Street Project in Montgomery County

Drivers can expect 24-hour left lane closures in both directions through June

Post Date:05/25/2018 1:06 PM

The North Main Street Project on Route 460, a project that will focus on enhancing safety at the intersection of North Main Street and Farmingdale Lane, has started. The new design focuses on improving safety by constructing a restricted crossing U-turn (R-CUT) that will eliminate left turns, the primary turning movement where crashes have occurred at this intersection.

Beginning Tuesday, May 29, weather permitting, a 24-hour left lane closure on eastbound and westbound of Route 460 will be in place through the end of June to work on the new crossover inside the median.

As work continues through the summer, drivers can expect additional lane closures and a closure of North Main Street with a detour in place approximately mid-July.

Drivers are encouraged to allow for extra travel time and to watch the message boards for updated information on traffic pattern shifts and lane closures.

The project is expected to be completed by December 2018.
