
Housing
The Town of Blacksburg’s Housing Division is responsible for facilitating quality community development that will result in benefits to low to moderate income persons by providing for decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanded economic opportunities. The office provides community planning, information resources and financial support for low to moderate income individuals, families, and organizations in a fair and equitable manner. This division also manages Community Development Block Grant and HOME Grant funding from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development as well as offering homebuyer education and assistance.
Neighborhood Services
The Town of Blacksburg’s Neighborhood Services Division is here to help you – the citizen. Neighborhood Services seeks to educate citizens on quality of life issues and the preservation of neighborhood stability through increased communication, coordination, and citizen involvement. Citizen - government interaction is the key to healthy, stable neighborhoods and citizens are encouraged to actively participate in problem solving and participation with the Town Gown Community Relations Committee. Neighborhood Services also serves as a mechanism to increase the Town Governments’ responsiveness to residents through its nuisance code enforcement program.
The Town of Blacksburg currently consists of 24 neighborhoods. Each neighborhood in Town boasts its own unique character and citizen makeup.
