The About Town newsletter and The Recreator publication have been merged. Our goal? Create a new publication that continues to serve the citizens of Blacksburg, provide timely and interesting information about your community, and help you explore the exciting opportunities available through Blacksburg Parks and Recreation. So here it is, a new publication with a slight twist on an old name. About Town has been the recognized go-to tool for town news and information for more than 20 years. To freshen things we’ve added a simple tagline Life and Recreation in Blacksburg. The new About Town will celebrate all that is great about life in the Town of Blacksburg. It will still be published three times a year in January, May, and September, and will contain much of the same content as it has in the past, but with a few new additions. Find out about upcoming events, recreation programs, local achievements and endeavors, town and university efforts, and more. In addition to the print version, About Town will also be available in a clickable page by page format online. We welcome your feedback and suggestions and hope you enjoy the new and improved About Town.
