Community Relations, a division of the Town Manager's Office, is responsible for all outreach and communications efforts of the Town of Blacksburg. This includes the distribution of news releases and other media advisories, development of print publications, administration of all social media sites and online communications, and management of the town’s cable access station, WTOB Channel 2.
Additionally, Community Relations serves as a liaison to various partner organizations in the areas of economic development, tourism, and the arts, and oversees projects assigned by the Town Manager. The office administers the annual Citizens Institute, the Sidewalk Stage busking program, the old time jam in Market Square Park, and the application process for downtown events.
