This position will be responsible for patron safety, monitoring water chemistry and enforcing facility rules at the Blacksburg Aquatic Center.
Previous experience in lifeguarding and excellent customer relations skills are required for this position. Current certifications in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid and Safety, AED and CPR for the Professional Rescuer are all required. Qualified applicants for this position must be 18 years of age or older to be considered. A high school diploma or G.E.D. is preferred. A satisfactory post-offer, pre-employment criminal background investigation will be required of the selected applicant.
Hourly rate is $9.50. Working hours will vary with assignments given Monday through Sunday to include: mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays. This position will not exceed 1,500 hours during the initial year of employment or during the Affordable Care Act measurement period of April 1st through March 31st.
