This position will serve as the first point of contact for all incoming visitors to the Police Department and will provide assistance as necessary. Duties will include, but are not limited to the following: answering telephones and fielding inquiries/requests; receiving and processing payments; managing the administrative aspects of the parking ticket system software; facilitating the fine collection process; serving as support to other administrative positions as necessary; requisitioning supplies and inventory control; performing data entry; maintaining files; processing daily mail and various other tasks as assigned.
Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. An Associate's degree in Accounting or Business, or related accounting experience is preferred. Strong communication and customer service skills are required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Access and Excel is preferred. A valid Virginia Driver’s License and an excellent driving record are required. A VCIN certification is required within 6 months of hire date and certification as a Notary Public is required within 12 months of hire date. A satisfactory post-offer, pre-employment criminal background investigation will be required of the selected applicant.
Starting salary range is $28,252/year - $31,077/year, depending upon qualifications. Retirement benefits are provided through the Virginia Retirement System. Direct Deposit of pay is required for all full-time employees.
