The Town of Blacksburg is currently recruiting for the seasonal position of Skateboard Camp Instructor. Qualified applicants must be able to organize and present programs for children ages 8 - 17 dealing with skateboarding skills and techniques. Instructors must be highly motivated, possess skateboarding knowledge and demonstrated skateboarding skills. The ability to safely supervise children in an outdoor environment is required.
Qualified applicants for this position must be 18 years of age or older to be considered and have the ability to successfully complete a CPR and First Aid Course. Previous experience is required. A high school diploma or G.E.D. is required. A satisfactory post-offer, pre-employment criminal background investigation will be required of the selected applicant.
Hourly rate is $10.00. Skateboard camps are half-day programs that run from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Please note that employee hours are based upon enrollment numbers and cannot be guaranteed if there is not sufficient enrollment. This position will not exceed 1,500 hours during the initial year of employment or during the Affordable Care Act measurement period of April 1st through March 31st.
