The Blacksburg Police Department has been providing quality law enforcement services to the citizens of the Town for over 100 years. Formally established in 1871, the Blacksburg Police Department has become an agency consisting of highly dedicated sworn law enforcement officers and non-sworn civilian employees. In 1993 the Police Department achieved and, has since maintained national accreditation status from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, attesting to its commitment of professionalism and service to the community.
