Blacksburg Police Department has been providing quality law enforcement
and police services to the citizens of the Town for over 100 years.
Formally established in 1871, the Blacksburg Police Department has
grown to be an agency consisting of 74 full-time and 8 part-time,
highly dedicated employees. In 1993 the Police Department achieved
and, has since maintained national accreditation status from the
Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, attesting to
its commitment of professionalism and service to the community. The
Department's total employee compliment includes:
- Motorcycle and Bicycle
Patrol Officers
- D.A.R.E. Officers,
- Crime Prevention Officers and
Specialists
- Criminal Investigators, Correctional Officers
- Communications Officers
- Patrol Officers
- School Crossing Guards

- Outstanding staff of Administrative Assistants.
The Blacksburg Police
