Refuse & Recycling

In 2006, the Town of Blacksburg received grant funding from the EPA’s Resource Conservation program to address issues of waste in the community. Specifically, the grant targeted increasing awareness and changing behavior in regard to recycling fluorescent lamps, batteries, and electronics. The Town of Blacksburg’s Refuse & Recycling program provides waste minimization, recycling, and refuse collection services to residents. Resources are also available to residents, apartment and townhouse complexes, commercial and industrial properties, and schools. The Town of Blacksburg’s Refuse & Recycling program strives to develop and enhance the program in order to promote environmental sustainability.
