CUP19-0003-Conditional Use Permit request for Medical Office on the Ground Floor in the DC Downtown Commercial zoning district at 401 South Main Street, Suite 105 (Tax Map Nos. 257-C 1105) by Steve Hill of Hill Rentals, LLC (applicant and owner).

The Blacksburg Planning and Building Department has received a request for a Conditional Use Permit for a Medical Office use on the ground floor in the DC Downtown Commercial zoning district at 401 South Main Street, Suite 105, for a physical therapy and therapeutic treatment office.  Physical Therapy is considered a medical office use by the Town of Blacksburg Zoning Ordinance.  A conditional use permit is required to allow a medical office on the ground floor at this location.  The Future Land Use designation for this property is High Impact Commercial.

Neighborhood Meeting
Thursday, June 27, 2019, 4:30 pm in the Blacksburg Motor Company Building at 400 South Main St. *
This is an informal meeting that will give the applicant the opportunity to present the plans and provide attendees with the opportunity to ask questions.  A staff member from the Planning Department will forward the notes from the meeting to the Planning Commission and Town Council.
Planning Commission Work Session
Tuesday, July 16, 2019, 5 pm in the Blacksburg Motor Company Building at 400 South Main St.
The Planning Commission will review the request and the staff report.  There will be an opportunity for the applicant to present the proposal.  The public is welcome to attend, however this is not a public hearing and there will not be an opportunity for public comment.
Planning Commission Public Hearing
Tuesday, August 6, 2019, 7:30 pm in the Roger E. Hedgepeth Chambers, second floor, Blacksburg Municipal Building, 300 South Main St.
The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on the request and make a recommendation to Town Council. There will be an opportunity for the applicant and the public to comment.
Town Council Work Session
 TBD The Town Council will review the request, the staff report, and the Planning Commission's recommendation.  There will be an opportunity for the applicant to present the proposal.  The public is welcome to attend, however this is not a public hearing and there will not be an opportunity for public comment.
 Town Council Public Hearing
 TBD The Town Council will hold a public hearing on the request and take final action.  There will be an opportunity for the applicant and the public to comment.

 

*The meeting will be combined with the neighborhood meeting for CUP19-0002 by the same applicant for an increase of allowable ground-floor medical and office square footage at The Brownstone at 301 South Main St.
