3511 Meadowbrook Drive

ROW18-0002/ORD 1881-Request to vacate approximately 0.129 acres (5,629 square feet) of Town-owned Right-of-Way known as Glade Road (Tax Map No. 222-A-16) by Adam and Tonya Czesnowski (applicant).

The Blacksburg Planning and Building Department has received a request by Adam and Tonya Czesnowski to vacate approximately 5,629 square feet of unbuilt Right-of-Way along Glade Road. The applicant owns the property at 3511 Meadowbrook Drive (Tax Map No. 222-A 16) which also has frontage along Glade Road. The intent of the Right-of-Way vacation request is to provide sufficient buildable space outside the Creek Valley Overlay District for a single family home. An additional 5-feet of Right-of-Way totaling 5,927 square feet will also be dedicated along the property’s Meadowbrook Drive frontage for future bike and pedestrian improvements. If the request is approved, the Town will retain a minimum 50-foot Right-of-Way along Glade Road, which allows for future bike and pedestrian improvements. This request does not represent an increase in density above either the Future Land Use designation, or the allowable density under the Zoning District regulations.

Neighborhood Meeting
Wednesday, November 7, 2018, 5:30 pm in the Blacksburg Motor Company Building at 400 S. Main St.
This is an informal meeting that will give the applicant the opportunity to present the plans and provide attendees with the opportunity to ask questions.  A staff member from the Planning department will forward the notes from the meeting to the Planning Commission and Town Council.
Planning Commission Work Session
Tuesday, November 20, 2018, 5:00 pm in the Blacksburg Motor Company Building at 400 S. Main St.
The Planning Commission will review the request and the staff report.  There will be an opportunity for the applicant to present the proposal.  The public is welcome to attend, however, this is not a public meeting, and there will not be an opportunity for public comment.
Planning Commission Public Hearing
Tuesday, December 4, 2018, 7:30 pm in the Roger E. Hedgepeth Chambers of the Municipal Building at 300 S. Main St.
The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on the request and make a recommendation to Town Council.  There will be an opportunity for the applicant and the public to comment.
Town Council Work Session
Tuesday, December 18, 2018, 11:00 am in the Blacksburg Motor Company Building at 400 S. Main St. The Town Council will review the request, the staff report and Planning Commission's recommendation.  There will be an opportunity for the applicant to present the proposal. The public is welcome to attend, however, this is not a public hearing and there will not be an opportunity for public comment.
Town Council Public Hearing
Tuesday, January 8, 2018, 7:30 pm in the Roger E. Hedgepeth Chambers of the Municipal Building at 300 S. Main St. The Town Council will hold a public hearing on the request and take final action.  There will be an opportunity for the applicant and the public to comment.
