RZN19-0003/ORD 1896-Request to amend Ordinance 1840 for Stonegate II Apartments at 509 Broce Drive (Tax Map No. 226-1BK 2-8) by Matthew Tomlinson of Gay and Neel, Inc (applicant) for Matthew Brady of BSD Broce Partners LLC (owner).

The Blacksburg Planning and Building Department has received a request to amend Ordinance 1840 that allowed for the rezoning of Stonegate II Apartments at 509 Broce Drive.  Ordinance 1840 (RZN17-0004) was approved by the Blacksburg Town Council on November 14, 2017 and rezoned the land for Stonegate II Apartments from R-4 Low Density Residential to PR Planned Residential.   RZN19-0003/ORD 1896 requests to amend this ordinance to allow for changes to the architectural features of the proposed Stonegate II Apartments.  This amendment request includes changes to the building footprint; increase in building height; relocation of the proposed leasing office and removal of the separate laundry facility and; changes to the building exterior to provide a more contemporary appearance.  The changes in the building footprint reduce the overall square footage proposed from the original project development design. This request does not include any changes to residential density or any changes to zoning uses not already approved.
