Starting this month and running through July, the Town of Blacksburg will compile an inventory of materials used in water service lateral pipes, as required by federal law. As part of this work, residents will see a contractor performing excavation, inspection, and site restoration near town water meters to determine pipe materials. Door hangers with additional information will be placed at residences near the work zones (approximately 288 residences, town-wide) from mid-June through July.
