Blacksburg Spring Cleanup Scheduled for April 6-27
The Town of Blacksburg will begin its annual Spring Clean Up in the northeast quadrant of town on April 6. Residents are asked to place items curbside by 7 a.m. on the Monday of their scheduled collection. Brush and yard debris are collected one day, and metal, tires, and other bulky items are picked up on another day during the week. Please do not place additional items curbside after everything has been collected.
Items intended for cleanup must be accessible from the public right of way. The town will not enter private property, parking lots, or driveways to remove materials. Items placed near mailboxes, water meters, fire hydrants, posts, or other obstacles that could be damaged will not be collected. We are operating in a unique time and situation. Please remember, that while we are glad to continue this and other services for our community, the safety of our essential personnel and our citizens is paramount. What is heavy, sharp, or dangerous for you to handle, is equally dangerous for our crews. This applies to exposure risks as well. The COVID-19 virus has reminded us all to practice proper hygiene and sanitary practices. Discarded materials can create potential hazards and while often inviting to explore and repurpose, we strongly recommend against this practice.
Help us protect you, by protecting us.
