Beginning Monday, May 17 at 8am, the southbound lane of 1000 block of University City Boulevard, from approximately the Broce Drive intersection through the Shawnee/University City bus stop, will be closed to traffic. The site contractor for the Union student housing development will be working to install a new sanitary sewer force main within the existing roadway.
Traffic will be restricted to the northbound lane by use of a flagging operation. Flaggers will be positioned on each end of the closure, at the intersection of Broce Drive, and as needed along the closure to provide access to all adjoining residences.
All adjacent driveways and access points will be maintained. Motorists will experience minor delays of no more than 15 minutes and should seek an alternate route if possible. Pedestrian access along the adjacent sidewalk should remain during the duration of the lane closure.
Work is anticipated to be complete by Wednesday, June 2 weather permitting. The lane closure will be in place daily Monday through Friday of each week. The lane closure will begin at 8am each day and be removed by 4:30pm.
