Blacksburg and the New River Valley are served by three local airports; two are private, and the other is commercial. 

Roanoke–Blacksburg Regional Airport is the closest commercial airport with service to Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Philadelphia, New York City, Orlando-Sanford, St. Pete/Clearwater, Sarasota Bradenton, and Washington, D.C., and offers connections to major cities such as Charlotte, Orlando, New York, and Chicago. Travel to Roanoke is made even simpler with The Smart Way, a bus service connecting the New River Valley to Roanoke for a day of shopping or a trip out of town. Smart Way stops are conveniently located throughout the Blacksburg and Roanoke areas, including the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport.

For international service, Richmond International and Charlotte Douglas are within couple hours drive. 

Local Airports

Virginia Tech Montgomery Executive Airport – Located beside Virginia Tech’s Corporate Research Center and just a couple of minutes from Virginia Tech’s campus, the airport’s location and size is ideal for corporate travel, fueling up or flying in for a Virginia Tech sporting event.

New River Valley Airport – Located in Dublin, (Pulaski County), this local airport also doubles as a port for U.S. Customs.
