Blacksburg Parks & Recreation offers the following health and fitness programs, classes are ongoing and interchangeable. Passes are good for one year from the date of purchase. Each participant needs to purchase their own pass. A pass must be active in order to participate in class. Please check with a doctor before beginning any fitness program.


Strength Training
Tuesdays and Thursdays

Improve muscular strength and endurance, balance, range of motion, good posture and functional performance of everyday activities.

Monday, Wednesday and Friday

Low impact class designed to improve cardiovascular health, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, range of motion, stability and balance.

Healthy Backs
Monday, Wednesday and Friday 

An exercise class with a focus on participants regaining or maintaining muscular strength, flexibility, balance, and a back free of pain and stiffness.

Tuesdays and Thursdays 

A gentle introduction to the fundamentals of Mat-Work Pilates. Strengthen and lengthen your body through sequential movement and development of core support with proper breathing.


30 minute “Get Fit with HIIT!” (High Intensity Interval Training)
Tuesdays and Thursdays

Come in right after work and get a strenuous compact workout and leave for home in 30 minutes.


Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings 
Tuesday and Thursday evenings 
Saturday mornings 

A Latin-inspired dance fitness class. It fuses Latin and international rhythms with easy-to-follow moves to create a dynamic, exciting, and effective workout programs.

Gentle yoga: Tuesday and Thursday 
Beg/Mod Yoga: Wednesday and Sunday 

Build strength, improve flexibility, perfect posture, improve balance and release tension through relaxation and proper breathing.

Personal Training

A certified fitness professional will design a program to help you meet your fitness goals. Doctor’s written permission may be required to participate in this program.



All passes may be purchased at the Blacksburg Community Center located at 725 Patrick Henry Dr.

Fitness Center

Fitness Center Pass Fees

All passes are good for up to one year from date of purchase. The fitness Center opens when the Community Center opens and closes 1/2 hour before the Community Center closes. Facility hours may change due to special events. Please call 540-443-1140 for more information. Fitness Center includes treadmills, arc trainers, bikes, seated steppers, nautilus circuit, dumbbells and mat area.

Adults (18 years and older):

  • Daily pass: $5
  • Five time pass: $10
  • Thirty time pass: $35
  • Fifty Time pass: $50 

Personal Training Passes

  • 10 sessions pass: $160/$170

Health and Fitness Exercise Class Passes
