In an effort to increase social distancing and inhibit the spread of the COVID-19 virus, all Town of Blacksburg facilities are closed to the public until further notice.
Our staff is still here to serve you and our departments will make every attempt to provide services over the phone or via email. Please refer to the information below for specific services that are being modified to continue serving our citizens.

Planning and Building/Engineering and GIS
To inquire about building permits, plan reviews, submitting development plans, land use or zoning matters, or building inspections please call us at one of the following numbers and we will be happy to assist you.

Staff will no longer host in-person meetings but are available by teleconference or in limited circumstances in the field at the construction site.
With advance notice, paper submissions/plan submittals may be placed in the lobby vestibule and we will retrieve them later.

To make a payment please use one of the following options:
- A drop box is available on the Washington Street side of the Municipal Building (300 S. Main St.)
- Mail checks to P.O. Box 90003, Blacksburg, VA 24060
- Call 540-443-1060 to make utility payments over the phone
- Call 540-443-1050 for other payments over the phone
- Pay utility bills, real estate taxes, motor vehicle fees or parking tickets online at www.blacksburg.gov/payments
Blacksburg Transit will continue to provide service during this time with a modified schedule to allow for social distancing for those using the public transportation system. All routes will be running at a typical frequency of 15 – 30 minutes effective March 22, 2020. Access service is running at full capacity and there is no change to the Christiansburg service frequency.
Anyone who needs to visit BT's facility at 2800 Commerce Street should call 443-1500 first to find out if we can accommodate your need. This is especially important if you have left an item on the bus and wish to retrieve it.
Parks and Recreation
The Community Center and Aquatic Center are currently closed to the public and all programs, events, and classes are cancelled until at least March 29, 2020. Town parks and trails are open at this time but please practice safe social distancing habits if you use them.
