Description:

The Planning and Engineering department has received a request for withdrawal of 4.672 (3.18 in Town) acres of land from the Agricultural and Forestal District at 701 Bishop Road by James and Carol Burger to allow further subdivison of the applicant's 36-acre parcel into four (4) total parcels.    A minor subdivision application (PLAT-24-12) for the creation of three (3) new parcels is currently under review by the Planning and Engineering Department. 

The proposed request is to allow three (3) new ±1.5 acre lots along Treetop Ridge Road and one (1) remaining ±33 acre lot with the existing home and frontage on Bishop Road. 

Per State Code 15.2-4314:  "Withdrawal of land from a district; termination of a district", any request for withdrawal of land from the AFD must be brought to the advisory committee for further evaluation. 

Through approval of the AFD withdrawal and companion subdivision, the applicant intends to allow the future development of single-family homes on the three new lots.  The applicant is not requesting any modifications or exceptions to town code.
