Description:
Conditional Use Permit request to permit a camp with short-term overnight stays. The Linkous-Kipps Historical House was built in 1798 and encompasses 15.776 acres with the main house and eight (8) outbuildings. The existing house is proposed as the main lodge. Outbuildings, pastures and open space will be used for outdoor gatherings, events and for recreation and educational purposes. A paved asphalt driveway leads to on-site parking that can accommodate 10 vehicles, and additional parking is available in the surrounding pasture. The applicant/owner proposes a maximum of 50 visitors at the house up to 2-3 times per week with occasional overnight lodgings of up to 10 people maximum. The Town of Blacksburg Comprehensive Future Land Use (FLU) designation is Low Density Residential. This proposed development will not increase density beyond the future land use designation.
